

Vietnam is located at the south east of Asia bordering the Gulf of Thailand at its southern most point; Gulf of Tokin and South China Sea; inland Vietnam extends along China, Laos and Cambodia. Vietnam is 2nd highest export country of coffee after Brazil. Central highlands (close to the border of Cambodia and Laos) are where coffee is grown. Gia Lai, central Tay Nguyen highlands bordering Cambodia coffee is grown at 800 meters above sea level. While in Lam Dong’s western highlands, also bordering Cambodia, coffee is farmed on a mountain ranging from 600 to 1,600 meters above sea level. In Kon Tum located in the central highlands (bordering Laos and Cambodia in the west) coffee is grown at 800 meters above sea where 50% of land is forest.
Dak Lak is a mountainous region; coffee is grown at 800 to 1,200 meters above sea level.
In Vietnam, no true classification used to distinguish coffee and it is wise to establish when purchasing beans, the specifics regarding moisture, defect and foreign bodies.
Harvest is from January to April.
