Kenya borders Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the east, Tanzania to the south and Uganda to the west. The Indian Ocean runs along the southeast.
Coffee is grown on both small and large plantations on Mt Kenya which lies east of Aberdare Ranges and has an elevation of 17,000 feet above sea level. In the west-central Aberdare Range, coffee is grown at an elevation of 12,000 – 13,000 feet above sea level. North-west of the capital Nairobi, at an elevation of 1,850 meters above sea level, coffee is grown in Nakuru . Coffee is distinguished by grade of the bean e.g. ‘AA’ being the largest.
Harvest is from October to March.
