India borders China in the northeast; Pakistan in the west; Nepal and Bhutan in the north and Bangladesh and Burma in the east. There are 3 geographical regions: Himalayas in the north; Gangetic Plains and in the south/central lies the high plateau region.

Both Robusta and Arabica coffee is grown. Monsooned Malabar is considered the best coffee. Coffee is grown under a natural shade canopy of  various spices and fruit trees. India is the 5th largest producer of coffee.

Harvest is from November to March.
